Our Something Blue.

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue," is the famous rhyme that superstitious brides and grooms follow in the name of luck on their wedding days. While the centuries-old rhyme has long been considered the recipe to follow for a harmonious wedding day and marriage, what does any of that really have to do with a long and happy union? This rhyme dates back to Victorian England, and it seems to signify the simultaneous hope for continuity and a fresh beginning. It refers to the things a bride is supposed to wear on her wedding day in hopes of having a successful marriage. While we feel our wedding is far from traditional this little rhyme is a way for us to connect with our loved ones that we are still privileged to have as well as those special family members who are no longer with us.
